Found My Niche
Update on the latest twists and turns in my nursing career. My new company is great. I love it there. I am pursuing my Wound Care Nurse certification from the WOCNA. Things are looking up.

Just found your website. I am in my final semester of a 2 yr RN program. I also come from an IT background. Was wondering if there was anyway I communicate with you. I'm also having a lot of the same feelings even though I have not yet started my first RN job. Just my experiences during clinicals have caused me to question how I will be able to manage the transition. I have not observed much support from RNs towards students which leads me to question how they treat new grads.

Wish I was so sure. Glad you know.
Done in Aug from LPN school.
Like the blog, just could not see myself being a nurse. I dont even like doctors. It would be tought for me to go to work every day.
Hi there, I found your site quite interesting since I am making a career transition into either nursing or radiography. I have been self employed for 17 years in 3D animation and computer programming and I too have had a desire to become actively involved in making the world a better place, and due to a variety of health crises in my family I have had the chance to admire nursing and hospital staff and the work they do. I'm starting my first term of pre-requisites in 3 weeks and am blogging about my transition as well.
I'm going to add your blog to my links and you can find mine at: http://www.mycareerdoover.com
Thanks,
Dan
Thanks, Dan. Your site looks awesome, posted a cross link. Best of luck.
Hi,
This is the assistant editor for Hospital.com which is a medical publication offering hospital news,
information and reviews. We also cover a wide variety of medical topics, some of these articles being relevant
to nursing schools and issues around their prospective students (scholarships, grants, etc). We are in the
process of giving the nursing industry a dedicated section from our site and are currently seeking online
resources which can be offered to our readers of this section. If possible I would like Hospital.com to be
included within your blog roll, offering our information as a resource to your readers and essentially
building a relationship between our sites. Please let me know if this addition can be made, Thanks!
Please email me back with your URL in subject line to take a step ahead and to avoid spam.
Thank you

This is Hannah Bevills, I am the editor for Hospital.com. We are a medical publication whose focus is geared towards promoting awareness on hospitals, including information, news, and reviews on them. We are in the process of adding a nursing section offering an extensive list of information related to nursing schools and prospective students in the field. We would like to have our site included within your blog and offer our information to your readers, of course we would be more than happy to list your blog within our directory as well.

Hello, I just found your website. Thank you for putting this together for those of us looking to transition into the nursing field.
I am enrolled to begin the prereqs in the Fall semester for the nursing program. I too will be leaving the IT field, partly for some of the same reasons as you.
Is there any chance we can hear an update from you? I'd love to get your perspective now that some time has passed since your last post. Have you not posted because you are not enjoying Wound Care like you initially thought?
-Thank you again for posting your life experiences and for leaving them up.

Found your niche as did we all. The day I decided to become a nurse practitioner was the best and most important day of my life. More importantly, It was the happiest day.
